Dr. Reuben's Story

Dr. Reuben was born in Augusta, Georgia, to immigrant parents.

As the only boy of five sisters, he spent countless hours reading, fascinated with airplanes and the behavior of people, sparking an early desire to understand and help others. At a young age, he knew that he would follow in the footsteps of his grandfather, Dr. Reuben, and his mother, who were both acclaimed helpers as medical doctors.

Education

Despite earning a full scholarship elsewhere, Dr. Reuben’s passion led him to the University of Georgia as a preferred walk-on playing football. After a year, his dedication led to him earning a scholarship and making significant contributions as a Georgia Bulldog. During this time, he discovered his profound interest in psychology, ultimately leading him to forgo his final year of football eligibility to pursue his doctorate in psychology.

Graduate Achievements and National Impact

As a graduate student, Dr. Reuben achieved many accomplishments including publication in peer reviewed psychology journals, a plenary talk at the American Psychological Association (APA), and being tapped into the University of Missouri’s (MU) Rollins society, a prestigious recognition for graduate students significantly advancing the university community well-being beyond academia.

He gained national notoriety in 2015 for co-organizing #ConcernedStudent1950 and the Student Coalition for Critical Action (SCCA), both student-led collectives advocating for positive changes in campus climate at MU and universities across the nation and world. His dissertation, Examining the Effects of an Intergroup Dialogue-Based Course on Students' Multicultural Competencies, garnered praise from students and university leadership alike and eventually became a standard course for all incoming students.

Professional Leadership and Continued Influence

Following his formal training, Dr. Reuben continues to build his career as a much-sought-after change activator serving the people, teams, and leaders who will tackle humanity’s greatest challenges. His balance of expertise, humor, and passion, creates unforgettable life changing experiences for people, teams, and leaders who desire to become the best versions of themselves, while transforming humanity for the better.
